Northern, CA March 8, 2009 — Fact: Every ton of 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper saves: 12 trees, 1976 lbs of greenhouse gases, and 360 gallons of oil. We are always working to become more and more environmentally proactive. Mobile Rock is starting its 2009 season with sustainability and “eco-friendly” practices in mind. The current “eco-friendly” movement is in high gear; and Mobile Rock is excited to jump on the green bandwagon. For the past year we have been working hard in order to make changes and adjustments in our office and operating that will help give back to our community and customers. Our inspiration and education in sustainability and green business practices, is growing and we are happy to announce the following efforts and actions we are making for 2009:
- Mobile Rock has highly decreased the amount of paper used in the office. A majority of all contracts and invoices that were once faxed are now sent via email. Recycled paper is used in replace of sticky notes, 100% recycled paper is used for all printing, all print cartridges are recycled and refilled for further use.
- All promotional material is done through email campaigns or on recycled materials.
- All of our portable rock walls are battery operated; at fairs/festivals there is a solar panel option available.
- Mobile Rock combines staff and multiple items in one vehicle to reduce emissions.
- Mobile Rock is looking into bio diesel in the near future for our diesel vehicles, and generators.
The fact is, everyone including businesses need to respond to our growing concerns of pollution and global warming. Mobile Rock is working together with the local community in order to spread the word of better business practices and the effects of recycling at the office.
